Construction productivity

The QPC has been asked by the Queensland Government to undertake an inquiry into opportunities to improve the productivity of the Queensland construction sector.

The inquiry will examine how policies and regulation affect productivity in the construction sector and consider opportunities for reform that will provide net benefits for the community.

The QPC invites all stakeholders to provide initial input on issues identified in the inquiry’s Terms of Reference.

Register for Regional Consultation

The QPC will be holding initial roundtable discussions in:

  • Gladstone – Monday 2nd June
  • Townsville – Monday 9th June
  • Gold Coast – Tuesday 10th June
  • Toowoomba – Friday 13th June

The roundtable discussions will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss their evidence and views with the QPC on issues covered by the Inquiry’s Terms of Reference, including:

  • state and local government legislation and regulation, including in relation to land use, urban planning, building, licensing and workplace health and safety
  • state government procurement and contracting policies, including Best Practice Industry Conditions
  • skills and labour force issues.
